I don’t have any sexually transmitted infections. I don’t have sex with men I date, so his genital issues wouldn’t be a problem. Either way, I would be wary, because love may be strong, but I’m not getting herpes just for the sake of it.

I have never had a sexually transmitted disease. I dunno if I would date a guy if I knew he had herpes, but if I slept with him before I was told and got it from him, he better damn well stay with me. lol Idk if I really cared for the guy and new he had it and he was getting treated, I might consider it.

Ive never had a sexually transmitted infection. I take care of my body. And i dont sleep around so i dont have this problem. I wouldnt indanger my own body by getting involved with someone with an STI. However not everyone with an STI sleep around they could of had a cheating lover who gave it to them, they could of caught it from birth or been raped. I dont judge those who suffer from an infection but i wouldnt want to put myself in a situation were i could catch it. Especially if i knew they caught it from sleeping around!

First of all HPV is not a type of herpes. Herpes is caused by another virus altogether. I would not date someone with herpes unless you both intend on giving each other a new STD. Don’t do it…please, can you image having warts and herpes at the same time! Sounds painful and no I have never had an STD.

HPV is human papillomavirus and is not a form a herpes. HPV is a very common infection and can sometimes have no symptoms at all. The strain of HPV that causes genital warts is the low risk version and normally does not lead to cervical cancer. Many men are carriers of it and have absolutely no idea that they have it. Currently, there is no test in men for the virus. Condom usage is also not 100% effective against the virus. So, this is not a virus you should beat yourself up about, or be angry with your partner about, but you should be diligent about getting annual pap smears. It would be best to let any partners you sleep with know of your status so that they know that they have the potential to become a carrier.
As for dating someone with herpes, it would really depend on the situation. Over 80% of the population has either genital or oral herpes. Cold sores are the oral form a herpes and are not necessarily garnered through unsafe sexual practices. Most often, children will receive the oral herpes virus from their parents, or some other family member. The stigma surrounding herpes comes from a great deal of misinformation. Herpes is not necessarily a virus that equates to promiscuity and “dirtyness”. Just because your partner has herpes doesn’t mean that you will contract it. The chances of contracting the virus when your partner is not experiencing an outbreak are small, and precautions can be taken during outbreaks. There are also a host of antivirals have been introduced to decrease viral shedding between and during outbreaks. So, would I date someone with herpes, most likely.
