Well, you cant have a swab done unless you have a sore.
As far as the blood test, you will need to wait until about 3-6 months before an accurate test can be conducted.

Antibodies for herpes can take 3-6 months to build.
You also should have an out break in order to get a swab test done.
If you experience any symptoms of herpes then you could possibly have a blood or swab test done.
Herpes usually shows symptoms in 2-14 days but it can take longer for antibodies to build (your body can suppress the virus for months even after you contracted it) to give you a positive result.
