No, only through the mother. But, a guy can get it from sexual intercourse so if u had sex with a guy who has herpies i would get checked out!! Good Luck!!

NO! a father cannot pass Herpes to the baby. A father can give it to the mother.but only a mother can give it to the baby during childbirth.
(so a C-section is usually done to prevent it). Herpes is not passed thru genes, it is passed during vaginal childbirth by the Herpes sores on the vagina.

wow the ignorance of some of you people is staggering. the ONLY way a father could pass herpes is if he had sexual contact with his child, after that child was born. it is only transferred by skin to skin contact. also mothers with HSV 2 USUALLY have babies VAGINALLY with no problems. only if they are having an outbreak are they delevered c-section. people who are ignorant should refrain from anwering
