Can I get herpes by this? Is this herpes? HELP?
klvn c asked:
I've just got a recent herpes scare yesterday.. 7/30/09
I bought some juice from a guy with a juice stand near our gym yesterday, I saw the hand he used to hold my cup (His thumb nail was partially cut off and i saw the part where he was cut going to the side of his thumb turning black.. but i didn't saw any cuts or open wounds). Here in the Philippines some of the juice stand uses ladles to get the juice form the container. (I didn't saw any juice hit his thumb also) so that was quite a relief. I didn't touch the part where his thumb was touching the cup also. But I drank the juice. Then the next day which is today 8/1/09. This morning i looked at the mirror and i saw my lip perfectly normal.. then, an hour later, i took a bath. After I took a bath, I saw an inflamed part on my left upper lip, like a blister, it was red but it didn't hurt or itch. Then I went to the gym, when I was doing exercises at the bar (I saw the last guy using the bar wearing gloves) i've been using it 3 times and my hand was perfectly normal.. but for the 4th time used it, after my set, My right hand itched and I noticed it was red, and I saw one single small blister on my right hand. I went paranoid because I know that herpes causes itching blisters. I went home and took a bath, my hand was still itching, and I used alcohol and disinfected my hands twice with it.. and minutes later it was itching but very light only. The itching occurs randomly, and that evening, I used the right hand to masturbate... I'm 16, and i'm scared. Please help, Do you think this is herpes? Do you think that i've passed the bacteria on my hand on my genitals? please help.
Right now I'm looking at my right hand, there's this small blister but it's not itching. (by the way the hand was itching, not the blister itself) It isn't painful, it isn't red, and it doesn't hurt when I touch it. Do you think it's herpes? Please help.!!!!!!!!!!!

This is a rambling read – but I hope i got the gist of it!
I don’t think this is herpes – but if I had noticed the guy’s hand/thumb – why would you go ahead and drink the juice? I think you’re being a little paranoid – but you’ve at least disinfected your hands. Could the blister on your hand come from the weight bar – just simple friction? That’s probably why the other guy was wearing weight-lifting gloves – to keep from having blisters.
Herpes is usually spread through genital contact – or kissing someone who has a fever blister. The chances of you having contracted herpes is slim – but there is a better chance of you contracting something like e-coli or salmonella poisoning from the street vendors -
