   No! Just because you have the herpes virus does NOT mean you die of encphalitis, this is rare. The facts HSE (Herpes Simplex Encephalitis) is actually very rare you are looking one person in every 400.000 people being affected. For those who are affected the mortality rate is vastly improved to 80% by the giving of Acyclovir.
