How is it possible for me to test positive to Herpes Type 2 and my partner to test negative?
ihavaquestion asked:
The other day I went to the doctore, because I thought I had a rash, but it had came out to be Herpes Type2. Which was devastating. I never seen any other type of symptoms or never had a breakout. Well I told my partner of a year and a half. He went to the doctor and was tested negative for the antibodies, which I think is suppose to show up in your system forever whether you have a outbreak or not. He was also tested negative for Type 2! We have unprotected sex and oral. So how is it possible for me to be positive and him not? Oh, I also seen his test, so he wasn't lying about it. PLEASE SOMEONE HELP ME WITH SOME TYPE OF INFO. THANKS!

Stop Herpes Now and From Coming Back for Good!
He’s been lucky so far but his luck won’t last.
Your immune system kept the virus in check until this outbreak

You had it first, and he’s just been a lucky Schmo. I’d wear protection from now on if I was him!

Life Extension Health Concerns
Hi, i’m in a similar situation. I’ve just been diagnosed with Herpes type 2 – and also never had any symptoms or outbreaks whatsoever. I’ve been reading up alot on this. I am also with a long-term partner. He’s decided not to get tested as he doesnt think it matters as he only wants to be with me, we will get married eventually and like he says, it doesnt really matter who got it first as we dont plan on sleeping with anyone else. I hope your partner is supportive of you too. It doesnt make sense to start laying blame or tying yourselves in knots over where and how you got it.
It is an evil little virus that lives in the nerve cells. It can lie dormant for months/years and only show up when you are stressed/feeling run down/or a few other causes.
I suggest dealing with it as it has already happened and try to prevent your partner getting it if he is that worried. Though women are more likely to catch it off men than the other way round (lucky us, eh?!)
Knowledge is power in this case – read the websites and people’s advice but remember – its not life-threatening, and won’t affect your fertility. Its just a nasty little bugger to deal with the symptoms – but just take the medication the doctor prescribed you and keep your fingers crossed (like I am!) that all the scientists in the labs will find a cure very soon. Good luck : )

Natural Diet Plan For People Who Have Genital Herpes.
It is my understanding that they can only test for the Herpes virus while there is an active outbreak… like you had at the time of diagnosis. Your boyfriend didn’t have an outbreak when he was tested…. so it may not be an accurate result.
If for any reason you two split-up… he needs to assume he may be carrying the virus still.
Become educated about Herpes… it is a very manageable disease, and the more you know the better off you are!
Check this out…

“Don’t Worry? Get Tested!”
I had a blood test about 3 months ago for herepes and the test test u for oral and gential hepes . the test showed i was exposed 2 herpes family meaning if i ever have had a cold sore that could have been the exposure. for him 2 test negative for antibodies means he has nver had a outbreak it could be laying dormant or maybe not who knows

what this means is that you have not passed it on to him. there is a small chance that you can pass on herpes without having an outbreak, but it is small. herpes is usually transmitted during an outbreak. therefore, since this is your first outbreak and he tested negative, he is in the clear for now. sometimes you can get a false negative, so have him tested in about six months. make sure that you use protection from now on and abstain when you have an outbreak. and just so you know, he does not need to have an outbreak for the test to be accurate, like some people have stated. once you have herpes, type 1 or 2, it is in your blood and will always show up on a test.
