Is it possible to contract herpes from a cold sore?
MJ asked:
Ok, lets say a female that gets cold sores/fever blisters gives u oral unprotected, but at the time of giving you oral she had no signs what so ever of a cold sore. lets say that after oral you had sex and she had a yeast infection. is it possible for the guy to have contracted herpes? Or a yeast infection?? does there have to be a cold sore present in order to get genital herpes?

Yes, a man can contract Oral Herpes (cold sores) from a woman that has them, even when she is not having an outbreak. But men cannot get yeast infections. And just so you know that if someone has Genital Herpes and you perform oral on them you can get Genital Herpes orally. Even if the person is not having an outbreak. It is safest for the both of you for you to have a condom on while receiving oral and for her to have some sort of barrier over her genitals like a Dental Dam. If that is not available to you then you can either cut a condom longways and use that to cover her or you can even use plastic wrap to form a barrier. A bit more information for you….(95% of all people who have gotten Herpes have gotten it from a partner that wasn’t having an outbreak at the time. Then can even be carrying the virus and not even know that they have it.

Herpeset:Genital Herpes Relief
Yes. Oral herpes can be caught genitally, even when no symptoms are present (although it is less likely than when sores are present).
I’m not quite sure what the yeast infection has to do with the spread of herpes, since you can catch her herpes with or without the yeast infection.
Just to clarify the previous respondent – while condoms do a very good job of protecting against many STDs, they do not do a very good job of protecting against herpes. Herpes is spread through skin-to-skin contact, and can be caught anywhere on the genital area (including the scrotum, upper thighs, etc. etc.). And sex, if you’re doing it right, involves a LOT of skin-to-skin contact, even with a condom.

Eliminate Genital Herpes
Yes, it is possible to get herpes from oral sex with someone who gets cold sores, even if there are no symptoms present when you have sex. Herpes is EXTREMELY contagious when there are lesions present, VERY contagious just before and just after the cold sore shows up, and somewhat contagious when there are no symptoms present. Yeast is naturally-occuring in the vaginal tract, and it is both easily transmitted and easily gotten rid of.

Stop Herpes Now and From Coming Back for Good!
Yes to both. Both strains of the herpes virus can be passed even when there is no outbreak so you can become infected. Men can also contract yeast infections (though they generally display no symptoms) and if you think you do have a yeast infection from her, you should get tested and treated because you can pass it back to her if you don’t use protection!
