Is it possible to have herpes on your cheek?

I am asking because I recently contracted genital herpes. I know that I did not already have it and I know that I got it from my last sexual partner. Clear herpes outbreak fast!
Yes, you can get herpes anywhere. I had a friend that had it on her arm. When I worked at a vision center it wasn’t uncommon to see it in the eye either.

yes it is you can get cold sores around your mouth area and that is a type 1 herpes . they can often be mistaken for acne.

Absolutely, the herpes virus can appear anywhere, on your hands, arms, thighs. My brother even has a herpetic infection in his eye. Usually though, HSV type II occurs in the genital region while HSV type I occurs around the face (however I have genital HSV type I). Do you know what type you have? It is unlikely that you boyfriend has HSV type II on his face, so if you have this strain of the virus it is not likely that you would have got it from a bump on his cheek.
Also, it is very difficult to pinpoint who gave you herpes if you have had more than one sexual partner as the virus can lay dormant in your system for years, with your first outbreak coming on as a result of stress.
