“Don’t Worry? Get Tested!”
you USUALLY dont get herpes from your partner, unless you have intercourse during one of their outbreaks. i cant imagineanyone wanting to have sex while they have sores on their penis. However, 10% of people get herpes from theirpartner even if they are not broken out at thetime of intercourse. Go get checked.

If you had any open sores when you had sex it’s very possible that he could get it. Both of you should get tested

i have had it for two years and my b/f has never got it and i don’t take meds or use condoms…you’ll be fine… AND IF HE DOES HAVE IT…IT’S NOT LIKE IT WILL KILL HIM, IT’S NO BIG DEAL!!! I thought it was the END of the world when I found out I had it….but really I’ve had 2 out breaks and I wasn’t sick or anything. It could be worse!

honestly, i think there’s nothing to worry about. herpes is often due to uncleanliness, it isnt as if he can get it from u. relax. if u didn’t have sex with him when u had sores, it should be ok. i think u didnt rite? cause it would’ve hurt. if u’re really worried just get it checked. oh. and for ur herpes, make sure u use vagisil often. good luck.(:

Combating Genital Herpes
Hmm that’s a tuff question because someone can still contract herpes even if there are no out brakes, it just like HPV and that almost never shows symptoms.
Don’t listen to a lot of these people on the net there just telling you what you want to hear you give them best answer. Also the people that call them self’s doctors are full of it. Do you really think if they were a doctor that they’d be on “Yahoo answers” answering STD questions after they get home from work?
I think not. That just goes to show you how stupid some people can be. However I have seen a lot of smart people on here before. Generally the “Top contributors.”
I wish you the best of luck.

You’re Good Friend.

I’ve had it for many years, more than ten and my husband has never shown any signs or symptoms and we’ve never used any type of protection.
Make sure you don’t have sex if you are showing signs of an outbreak, or if you think you possibly are getting ready to have an outbreak. Usually you will feel a “tingling” sensation just before an outbreak occurs.
Good Luck to You.
If you are worried, your doctor can give you the information you need and also medicine that can help reduce the risk of transmission to your partner.

Truthfully most of those answers are WRONG. If you watch the Valtrex commercial they will tell you that most people get herpies from people who had no signs or symptoms of it…its easier to catch it when your having a breakout but you can catch it just as fast when you dont have a breakout..it takes up to a year for your first breakout to occur and you have been having unprotected sex so if hes really lucky he dont have it but most likley he does.

Life Extension Health Concerns
Man there are a lot of uninformed people online.
First, you say you may have herpes, definitely get a blood test, heck, take your bf along and get him one too. That way you know where you both stand in terms of results. He could have it with no symptoms.
I believe if you take suppressive meds (ie valtrex) and use condoms, the chances per year are less than 5%. I’m thinking its 10% if no protection is used.
